Abstract
The purpose of this research is to analys how the audience understand information about career on TikTok accouncts with reception theory by Stuart Hall. The difficulty of finding a job and the low succes of job seekers in the selection is due to the lack of information about the right career preparation. To overcome this problem, the TikTok account @vmuliana is here to provide solutions about the growing career. This research emphasises more on the content from the TikTok account @vmuliana which provides career preparation tips needed by the audience, including the playlist “ Tips Bikin CV” and “Contekan Interview”. Researchers collect data through interviews with research subjects, namely people who already have a career, also by documenting and studying literature. The purposive sampling technique was used in this study, and the interview results will be analysed according to three positions of Stuart Hall’s reception theory. The results of this study show that the eight informants whoose interview researchers have different acceptances and meanings regarding 6 career preparation contents on the @vmuliana TikTok account. Differences in acceptance and meaning are due to differences in background, experience, and work sector.
