Abstract

Tourism plays an important role as a supporting sector and in developing a region. Natuna has been designated as a regional tourism development corridor and is part of an area that possesses geological heritage sites, officially recognized as a National Geopark. Natuna Geopark was established in 2018 with three main pillars: geodiversity, biodiversity, and cultural diversity. The purpose of this study is to find out how the tourism communication strategy of the Natuna Geopark is based on local wisdom. The concept used is Anwar Arifin's communication strategy concept. The research was conducted in Natuna Regency, specifically at BPGN Natuna and the Natuna Tourism Office. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach through data collection via observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show the identification of primary and secondary audiences, message management that represents the local wisdom of the Natuna Geopark, the use of interactive, educational, and persuasive communication methods, and the use of communication media including print, electronic, social media, and online media.
