Abstract

This study aims to identify and eliminate electricity waste at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Islamic University of Riau, by applying lean management principles to support the sustainability of the university. The energy waste primarily occurs due to the habit of not turning off electronic devices such as air conditioners, lights, LCD projectors, fans, and computers after use. This research highlights the relevance of applying lean management principles in formulating strategies to reduce electricity waste. Several proposed strategies include stricter monitoring, the implementation of individual responsibility for turning off electronic devices, and continuous education to foster an energy-saving culture among the academic community. By applying lean management principles, it is expected that higher energy efficiency can be achieved, operational cost savings can be realized, and environmental sustainability can be supported.
