Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of self-determination among followers of the Instagram microblog @satupersenofficial on self-development information. This study uses self-determination theory, which includes autonomy, competence, and relatedness, to examine the self-development information received by followers, both in the form of hard skills and soft skills. In this study, a quantitative method was used with a sample of 400 respondents using probability sampling, employing the simple random sampling technique. A questionnaire was used as the instrument, which was then analyzed using SPSS 26. The validity test was conducted using the Correlation Product Moment, and the reliability test used Cronbach's Alpha. For analysis, the Simple Linear Regression Test was employed. The results indicate that the self-determination of Instagram microblog followers @satupersenofficial toward self-development information is significant. The T-test results show that the calculated value for the self-determination variable is 16.654, which is greater than the critical value of 1.965 (t-table), indicating significance at p < 0.05. From the results of the simple linear regression test, the coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.411 or 41.1%, which means that the influence of the independent variable (Self-Determination) on the dependent variable (SelfDevelopment Information) is 41.1%, while the remainder can be explained by the influence of other variables not studied by the researcher.
