Abstract

Students have many academic and non-academic tasks that can burden them and cause academic stress. To reduce the level of stress experienced, students need social support, one form of which is religious support. This study aims to determine the relationship between religious support and academic stress among students who participate in Islamic studies. The sample for this study consisted of 315 students who regularly attend Islamic studies, selected using snowball sampling. The instruments used in this study were the Student-Life Stress Inventory (SLSI) scale, which includes 51 statements, and the Multi-Faith Religious Support Scale (MFRSS), which comprises 21 statements. Based on the results of the statistical analysis using Spearman's rho correlation, it was found that there was no significant relationship between religious support and academic stress, with a value of (r) -0.063 and a significance value of 0.262 (p>0.05). This implies the importance of identifying other variables that are assumed to influence academic stress among students participating in Islamic studies.
