Abstract
Each student has a varying level of anxiety when speaking in public. This difference is influenced by the level of self-efficacy and the ability to self-regulate when facing a situation. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and anxiety in public speaking among students of the Faculty of Psychology at Islamic University of Riau, with a population of 1162 and a sample of 100 students. The sampling method used is convinience sampling. Data analysis technique uses product moment correlation and data collection technique uses Likert scale, with the results indicating a correlation between selfefficacy and public speaking anxiety of r= -0.740 with p= 0.000 (p<0.05). The results indicate that the hypothesis proposed by the researcher, which states that there is a negative relationship between self-efficacy and anxiety in public speaking, is accepted, meaning that the higher the self-efficacy, the lower the level of public speaking anxiety, and vice versa.
