Abstract

Background Problems: In the sport of basketball, there is a lack of a holistic approach that includes technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects, thus hindering players' progress in reaching their full potential. Main Objectives: The purpose of this study is to present a comprehensive literature review on various learning models in the basketball context. Methods: A systematic review was conducted on basketball learning models with PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Metaanalyses). The search was completed on December 13, 2023. The electronic database Scopus was used to search for relevant publications from the earliest publication in 2014 to 2023. A group of keywords were selected based on the research objectives: "learning model" OR "learning models" OR "models of learning" AND "basketball." Finding/Results: The use of diverse approaches in the development of learning models in the sport of basketball is essential. The findings investigated here show that both conventional methods and technology-based machine learning can make a significant contribution to improving the skills and wellbeing of basketball players. Conclusion: Overall, this article confirms that as approaches and technologies continue to evolve, research in the development of learning models in the sport of basketball has great potential to make a significant contribution to the overall development of the sport. This includes not only the technical aspects of the game but also factors that influence well-being and intervention outcomes, both in the context of sport and mental health.
