Abstract

In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of students who work. This study aims to determine the relationship between parental support and academic resilience among working students in Pekanbaru. This study uses a correlational approach. The population in this study consists of working students in Pekanbaru, whose exact number is unknown, using accidental sampling technique with a sample size of 98 individuals. Data collection in this study utilized the parental support scale developed by Mageau (2015) and the academic resilience scale developed by Cassidy (2016). Data analysis in this study used basic assumption tests and Pearson correlation hypothesis tests. The results of the study showed a significant positive relationship between parental support and academic resilience among working students in Pekanbaru (r = 0.270, p < 0.05). This means that an increase in parental support is directly proportional to an increase in academic resilience.
