Abstract

Law enforcement is one way to realize the objectives of the law and ensure that society complies with them. The Indonesian people strive to implement firm and honorable rules, and to realize justice and peace. In Indonesia, the term "law enforcement" refers to the application of strict legal standards with the aim of minimizing violations. Society requires law enforcement officers capable of maintaining peace and order. One of the law enforcement elements in Indonesia is the Indonesian National Police (POLRI). Article 2 of Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the police. The formulation of the problem contained in this study is: How is the Law Enforcement Against Illegal Racing Perpetrators in the Jurisdiction of the Mandau Police, Bengkalis Regency?, What are the Obstacles to Law Enforcement Against Illegal Racing Perpetrators in the Jurisdiction of the Mandau Police, Bengkalis Regency? This study employed a qualitative sociological legal research method, employing a survey method. The researcher visited the research location directly and used interviews as a data collection method. The data sources used were primary and secondary data. Subjects were determined based on predetermined criteria for the population and the respondents themselves. The research found that illegal racing occurs due to a lack of parental curfews, allowing children to have freedom outside the home, which can influence them to watch and even become involved in illegal racing. Law enforcement in the Mandau Police Sector has been able to reduce the number of illegal racers, although this may not be significant, but it has been effective, including clearing illegal racing locations, punishing those caught, and adhering to established laws and regulations.
