Abstract

Domestic Violence is an act committed against a person, especially women or an act committed by a husband against a wife in a household that results in physical, sexual, and psychological misery and suffering as well as neglect of the household. In the jurisdiction of the Kampar Police, there are a number of cases of Domestic Violence, which in this case requires legal protection for victims of domestic violence. Based on the previous explanation regarding the background of the problem, the author proposes the formulation of the problem, including: What is the form of legal protection for victims of domestic violence in the Kampar Police area, and what are the obstacles in providing legal protection for wives as victims of domestic violence in the Kampar Police jurisdiction. This thesis is written using the Sociological Legal Research method by conducting interview studies, taking direct data as a data collection tool. The nature of this research is descriptive which aims to provide a detailed description of legal protection against domestic violence. The form of legal protection provided by the Kampar Police is to try to restore the victim's condition both physically and mentally, restore the victim's physical and spiritual health. What is done is: treating wounds experienced by victims of domestic violence. The violence experienced by the victim is by the perpetrator committing his actions physically, finding a safe house for the victim, in this step the police collaborate with the UPTD PPA, ensuring that they do not receive the same treatment again by the perpetrator, and mental healing for the victim so that the victim is not traumatized again by the things that have been done by the perpetrator in the case of domestic violence.
