Abstract

The emergence of a crime of persecution that led to death is very troubling society. In this case, when solving a problem of the crime of persecution, a lot of funds and energy have been spent on tackling a problem of the crime of persecution, but the results cannot be said to be satisfactory or not yet effective. In fact, it tends to increase the number of cases of abuse that lead to death, such as in the jurisdiction of the Tampan Police. The main problem in this research is what are the factors causing the crime of persecution that resulted in death and how are the police's efforts to deal with criminal acts of persecution that result in death in the jurisdiction of the Tampan Police. This research uses the type of empirical legal research by using observation research or the field by way of direct surveys to the field, the nature of the research is analytical descriptive and the data collection tools that the authors use are interviews and literature studies. Based on the results of the research, it can be understood that the factor of persecution that resulted in death occurred due to several factors, including internal factors within the perpetrator, namely age, personality, economy, emotions and education while external factors, namely the place of crime, family , time of crime, and environment. Therefore the role of the Police in tackling the crime of persecution resulting in death in the preventive field is in the form of raids at night entertainment venues, carrying out routine patrols and conducting outreach to the public, while the role of the Police in the repressive field is carrying out investigations and inquiries whose results will be submitted to the Prosecutor's Office. General for prosecution in court.
