Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the coordination function in controlling regional inflation in Siak Regency, with variable indicators including the chain of command, information, authority, responsibility, and objectives. The research, which is located at the Siak District TPID Secretariat, the Siak District Regional Secretariat Office, uses a descriptive qualitative research approach that focuses on actual problems or phenomena, describing facts about the problems under study accompanied by strong and accurate rational interpretations. The data used are the results of interviews, observations, and documentation, which are analyzed through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that the Coordination Function in Inflation Control in Siak Regency has not fully run well, there are still differences in understanding in the implementation of tasks that are under their authority in several OPDs, namely the Siak District Industry and Trade Office and the Siak District Food Security Office. This difference in perception is caused by each OPD believing that it is in accordance with its authority to carry out price monitoring activities. So price monitoring is carried out by the two OPDs. On the other hand, the recap of price monitoring results was not submitted to the Siak District TPID, so that the Siak District TPID did not have data on price developments. From this problem, the researcher suggested that the Siak District Government emphasize the authority to monitor the prices of commodities for the basic needs of the community to one of the OPDs, and also emphasize the mechanism for submitting data from the OPD to the Siak District TPID. It is also recommended that OPDs submit copies of work reports to the Siak District TPID, and improve coordination, especially in exercising authority so that there is no overlap.
