Abstract

The inspections conducted by the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) often encounter challenges, particularly due to an overly pronounced sense of camaraderie, togetherness, and humanistic considerations. Another issue in improving the quality of APIP lies in enhancing attitudes, behaviors, and the supervisory abilities of personnel in conducting inspections, ensuring that supervision is carried out fairly, effectively, and efficiently. Users of inspection reports generated by APIP expect supervisory personnel to be clean, authoritative, orderly, and compliant in executing their duties and functions according to applicable rules and norms. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the performance of the Riau Province Regional Inspectorate as APIP in achieving good governance and reducing fraud or regional losses. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. The study involved 12 informants, with the Inspector serving as the key informant. Data collection techniques included interviews, and data analysis was conducted using typological analysis techniques. The study results reveal that the performance of the Riau Province Regional Inspectorate as APIP plays a crucial role in supporting the achievement of good governance within regional government. Based on the analysis of five indicators productivity, service quality, responsiveness, responsibility, and accountability the Riau Province Regional Inspectorate demonstrates a commendable level of productivity in carrying out its internal supervision duties. This is evident from the number of inspection reports (LHP) produced, despite occasional challenges such as limited human resources and time constraints. The quality of services provided by the Inspectorate reflects efforts to uphold professional standards in supervision. The responsibility of the Inspectorate is evident in conducting supervision in compliance with legal regulations and applicable standards.
