Abstract

E-office is an information technology system that aims to simplify the process of office activities, especially in terms of official correspondence. As one of the results of the development of E-office, it will certainly help employees, both in offices, government organizations, and private companies and companies in completing their tasks properly and on time. However, there are several phenomena related to the implementation of E-office at the General Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of Riau Province, including the lack of IT personnel who can operate E-office, the lack of employee skills in applying E-office, there are still internet connection problems when the E-office application is used and there are still letters in manual or physical form. The purpose of this study is to determine the policy in the Implementation of E-office at the General Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of Riau Province and its obstacles. The method used is descriptive and qualitative methods; The informants in this study were the Head of the General Bureau of the Riau Provincial Secretariat, Head of the Administration Section, Head of the Administration Sub-Section, Administration Staff and Operators. Data collection techniques were observation and interviews and data analysis was descriptive and qualitative. This study concluded that the Assessment of the implementation of E-office at the General Bureau of the Riau Provincial Secretariat was quite implemented because there were still several obstacles, including communication that was still not understood and understood by e-office implementers because communication was still unclear and inconsistent and resources that were not fully competent in implementing E-office.
