Abstract

In this era of technological development, many people have used technology in their daily activities. Advances in technology today can not be separated from people's lives. Various information that occurs in various parts of the world is now immediately known to us thanks to advances in technology. With the development of technology, it has resulted in demands for courts to carry out electronic-based administration, or currently known as E-court. The main problem in this research is how effective is the implementation of e-court adjudicating civil cases at the Pekanbaru District Court, and what factors are the obstacles in implementing e-court. The research method used for this research is sociological empirical legal research, namely direct research carried out in the field to collect data in the form of questionnaires, and direct observation, which will be connected with laws, expert opinions and the basis of applicable regulations. The nature of this research is descriptive which aims to provide a systematic understanding, so that it is easy to understand the application of e-court. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the effectiveness of the implementation of electronic courts (e-court) at the Pekanbaru District Court in general is still disrupted, this can be seen by the fact that there are still cases that experience obstacles when using electronic courts (e-court). sometimes it happens that several factors to measure the effectiveness of a law have not been fulfilled, namely signal factors, human device factors, users' ignorance of their application, security and privacy factors, and facilities and infrastructure factors. this is a new facility and infrastructure at the Pekanbaru District Court to provide services to the community related to online case registration, which has been regulated in PERMA No. 1 of 2019 concerning electronic case administration and trial in court.
