Abstract
The problem of wax on petroleum production wells could result in a drop in the rate of petroleum production. Because of the subsurface of the well, it identified the decline in production. There are several methods of coping wax, one of which uses the chemical method. By injecting chemicals such as wax inhibitors like solvent bioethanol into petroleum production wells. The process of solvent bioethanol itself consists of pretreatment, hydrolistion, fermentation, and destilation, which after the invention of bioethanol will be applied directly to the waxy oil which is expected to be able to reduce the value of pour point and know the WAT (Wax Appearance Temperature) of petroleum production wells and analyze the (FTIR) temperatures of the bioethanol. The hydrolysis process is carried out at 15%, 20% and 25% and produces an increasing value of the reduction sugar and the variations in temperature of 40?C compounds to 100?C optic continues to increase until optimum point of 30?Brix surgical and after which the value of the reduction sugar goes down. The destilation process is employed to produce ethanol products from a sample of 440 mL to an approximate ± 30 mL of ethanol to a different degree. 0.015 g/mL addition of inoculation produces optimum ethanol by 18%. Bioethanol 5%, 20%, 50%, 70% and 100% may lower pour point by 1?C to 3?C. For FTIR test results on the bioethanol of the cassava waste show that it is a powerful oh group with a value of 3304.06 cm-1 that signals a successful process by producing the hydroksil/O-H cluster. Whereas a FTIR test on pure bioethanol suggests that it can be a powerful oh cluster with a value of 3300.20 and 3323.25 cm-1 that indicates a successful process by producing a hydroxyl/O-H cluster which ranges from 3300-3600. Hence ethanol as a solvent has the potential to inhibit the occurrence of paraffin wax depression.
