Abstract

General elections are a must for a country that calls its country a democracy. Until now, general elections are still recognized as important constitutional events, because general elections must fully involve the people and fulfill certain rules that must be met. This research examines starting from the discovery of violations which then led to the formulation of the problem in this research, namely How is the Implementation of the Dumai City Election Supervisory Body's Duties and Authorities in resolving violations of the simultaneous Regional Head Elections in 2020? And What Are the Obstacles to the Dumai City Election Supervisory Body in Resolving Violations in the 2020 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections? What makes this research a sociological or empirical research or field research. The research method used in this study is research that is sociological or empirical research or field research and with the nature of descriptive research. Which is located in the city of Dumai, Riau province. The data used comes from primary and secondary data, primary data is obtained from observations and direct interviews with informants and secondary data is data obtained by recording, collecting data or documents from the object to be studied. The results of the study show the role of the Dumai City Election Supervisory Body (BAWASLU) in dealing with administrative violations of the 2020 Election with the presence of findings and reports of a total of 21 reports and findings of violations which after being processed by no clear evidence was found which caused the reports found to be unable to followed up on which in the process obstacles were found in resolving election violations that occurred due to inhibiting factors from within the organization there was still a lack of human resources and a lack of election supervisors and obstacles from outside the organization lack of public awareness to participate and take part in monitoring and reporting if found election violations, errors or deviations from members of the organization did not occur in Bawaslu and violations committed by election participants occurred in three violations concerning administrative violations, election crimes and other legal violations. .
