Abstract
Concrete is a material that is very commonly used in the implementation of infrastructuredevelopment. In its use concrete also has several problems such as cracks in concrete. Cracks inconcrete often occur due to fatigue due to loading, creep and shrinkage in concrete, environmentalfactors, and inaccuracy in workmanship. This if left for a long time will make damage to theconcreteitself.Toovercometheseproblemsitisnecessarytoapplyamethodthathelpsconcreteto overcome the problems experienced. The self-healing concrete method is one method that canclose the fine cracks that appear in concrete. This is so that the bacteria Bacillus Cereus reacts toclose the cracks. This study aims to determine the effect of using Bacillus Cereus bacteria on theability of concrete to recover independently and to determine the shape of the effect of the bacteriaused physically asseenbySEM(ScanningElectronMicroscope)testing. The sample for testing the compressive strength and split tensile strength of concretereferstoSNI7656-2012concerningproceduresforselectingnormalconcretemixtures.Theconcrete mixture will be added with a 10% solution of Bacillus cereus bacteria from the amount ofwater used in the concrete mixture. To see whether bacteria are able to grow in concrete, a SEM(Scenning ElectronMicroscope)testiscarriedout. Based on research on the compressive strength and split tensile strength of concreteobtained the results of the compressive strength and tensile strength values of concrete with theaddition of Bacillus Cereus bacteria as much as 10% of the amount of water increased fromnormal concrete. The increase in concrete compressivestrength was 3.6% from theaveragenormal compressive strength value of 21.35 MPa to 22.12 MPa in concrete with the addition ofBacillus Cereus bacteria. The split tensile strength of concrete increased by 24% from the value ofthe normal split tensile strength of 0.25 MPa to 0.31 MPa in concrete with the addition of BacillusCereusbacteria.FromtheresultsoftheScanningElectronicMicroscopetestonconcrete, itcanbe seen that the difference in concrete added with bacillus cereus bacteria.
