Abstract

BBPOM (BaIai Besar for Drug and Food Control) is responsible for overseeing and investigating all medicines and food in accordance with all relevant laws and regulations, including by inspecting all food sold in stores. In Pekanbaru city, the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency has imposed strict supervision on the distribution of medicines and foodstuffs to ensure that local residents are only exposed to healthy and wholesome goods. Inspection of manufacturing and distribution facilities, random sampling, and laboratory testing are some of the procedures used by the Indonesian Center for Drug and Food Control (BBPOM) to monitor potentially harmful markets for unlicensed drugs and food.
