Abstract

Today, population growth is increasing rapidly. The availability of clean water for public consumption is decreasing. With this in mind, many business actors provide various types of water that can be consumed directly, one of which is a refill drinking water depot in the hope of gaining profit without paying attention to their rights and obligations so that it is feared it will be detrimental. Community. Therefore, it is important for the public to know Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. The formulation of the problem in this study is: How is the legal protection for consumers of refill drinking water depots in Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. What are the factors hindering legal protection for consumers of refill drinking water depots in Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This type of research is classified as observational research (survey) by means of a survey which describes the facts obtained from the respondents from the interview results. While it is descriptive and analytical. From the results of the research that the author has done, it is known that the implementation of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection in this case for consumers of refill drinking water depots in Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City has not gone well. fully implemented.
