Abstract
Developments in the design of road pavement layers have been seen with the presence of semi-flexible pavements that combine flexible pavements and rigid pavements. This study aims to determine how much influence the addition of mortar has on the characteristics of porous concrete asphalt on semi flexible pavement mixtures. Semi flexible pavement is a type of pavement that combines flexible pavement and rigid pavement. Semi-flexible pavement is made with Open Graded Asphalt (OGA) with an open gradation, where the voids in the mixture are filled with cement mortar. The result of this combination combines the flexibility of asphalt with the stiffness of cement so that semi-flexible pavements combine the best qualities of flexible and rigid pavements. Based on the percentage of use of coarse aggregate of 68.14%, medium aggregate of 17.39%, fine aggregate of 12.31%, sand of 2.15% which was obtained from the calculation of the combined gradation and variation of asphalt content with a percentage of 3.5%; 4% ; 4.5% ; 5% and 5.5%, the optimum bitumen content obtained in porous concrete asphalt mixture is 3.9%. The results of adding mortar to porous concrete asphalt in this study indicate that the higher the stability value will increase the interlocking between grain particles on the road pavement, so that the surface layer will be more resistant to changes (deformations) such as grooves, bleeding and waves. Marshall characteristics obtained from the addition of mortar on porous concrete asphalt (semi flexible pavement) have VFA, Stability, Flow, MQ values ??that increase with increasing mortar content. VMA and VIM values ??decreased with increasing mortar content. The stability of semi flexible pavement has a higher value than porous concrete asphalt without mortar, the highest stability is found at 90% mortar content with a stability value of 3497.6 kg. The addition of mortar to porous concrete asphalt shows a very significant difference compared to ordinary porous concrete asphalt, especially in terms of better pavement strength.
