Abstract

The business of developing ornamental plants in Pekanbaru City is quite good, especially at Menjuah-juah Florist Simpang Tiga Village, Bukit Raya Sub District, Pekanbaru city which experienced a significant increase in sales. However, the limited resources available do not guarantee optimal income received by ornamental plant entrepreneurs, based on this, how to get maximum profit. This research aims to analyze: 1) Characteristics of farming actors and profiles of ornamental plant farming; 2) Type and quantity of production costs, production, income and farming efficieny ornamental plant; 3) Optimal income value of ornamental plants. Respondents were determined using the census method. This research analyzes 7 types of plants in particular aglaonema, orchid, jasmine, rose, anthurium, yellow palm and frangipani Japan Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively, as well as linear programming methods using Lindo 6.1 software. The results of this research show that: 1) The average age of the Menjuah-juah Flower Garden business operators is 42.9 years (productive age), educational level with an average of 10 years (equivalent to high school), farming experience is 11 years, and the average number of family dependents is 2 people. The business scale of Taman Bunga Menjuah-juah is classified as a small business, this business has been around since 2001 with initial capital coming from a BRI Bank Micro People's Business Credit (KUR) loan, has a land area 2,600 m2, has a workforce of 7 people (2 in family and 5 out of family) ; 2) Total production at Menjuah-juah Florist is 1.150 pots/production process, fixed costs Rp. 4,449,163,- variable costs Rp. 42,053,048,- with total production costs Rp. 46,502,211, Total production costs are Rp. 46.502.211,-, total gross income Rp. 67.750.000,- net income worth Rp. 21.247.789,- and the average efficiency of the ornamental plant business is 1.51; 3) Based on the results of optimization calculations, Menjuah-Juah Florist will get the optimal profit Rp. 15.038.600,-. if it cultivates 150 pots of orchid, 25 pots of rose, 100 pots of anthurium leaf plants and 50 pots of frangipani Japan. At the Menjuah-Juah Flower Park, the actual conditions are optimal and get maximum profits.
