Abstract

Riau Province is one of the provinces with a very fast growth in the number of vehicles from year to year. then this can result in the road space capacity in Pekanbaru City getting smaller, due to an imbalance in the growth in the number of vehicles with the growth of existing roads in Pekanbaru City. This of course can be one of the triggering factors for traffic vehicle density during peak hour conditions, especially at intersections that are located near the downtown area of Pekanbaru City, shopping centers, crowd centers such as city park areas and places to carry out other activities. Of course this needs to be done by modeling vehicle traffic to see the condition of vehicle movement patterns during peak hour conditions in the intersection area. This research will use the software PTV Vissim tool. Software PTV Vissim functions to see traffic vehicle movement patterns and intersection performance at Jl. SM. Amin–Jl. Naga Sakti when there is an existing condition or an intersection with no signal. PTV Vissim software will make it easier to do intersection modeling because software PTV Vissim can display field conditions in 2D and 3D. The results of modeling the intersection of Jl. SM. Amin-Jl. Naga Sakti uses peak hour volume data on Weekends and Weekdays with default Vissim parameters, resulting in an invalid modeling, so a calibration and validation process must be carried out again, so that the modeling results can be valid. The calibration parameters used in modeling the Jl. SM. Amin-Jl. Naga Sakti uses 11 calibration parameters and runs 10 times for each parameter. Of the 11 calibration parameters used, the modeling has been declared valid on the 10 calibration parameters which were carried out using the GEH and MAPE validation tests. After the modeling is valid, the results of the Jl. SM. Amin-Jl. Naga Sakti during existing conditions (unsignalized intersection) with software PTV Vissim V 20 using peak hour vehicle volume data that occurs on Weekdays at 07.00-08.00 WIB produces intersection performance with intersection service levels in category D, namely the vehicle delay value of 26.06 seconds, while the modeling results of the intersection of Jl. SM. Amin-Jl. Naga Sakti when is converted into a signalized intersection using the LTOR system (turn left immediately) with signal time optimization of 90 seconds, the intersection performance with the level of service at the intersection is in category C, namely the vehicle delay value of 24.78 seconds.
