Abstract
Farming and Marketing Analysis of Red Chili (Capsicum annum.L) in Sintong Village, Tanah Putih District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. Suvervised by Mr. Dr. Ir. Ujang Paman Ismail, M.Agr. Red chili farming has great potential in Sintong Village. This study aims to determine and analyze: (1) Characteristics of farmers and red chili traders (2) Use of production factors, production costs, production, income, efficiency and BEP, (3) Institutions, Channels, costs, margins, profits, efficiency and farmer's share marketing. This research was conducted for 6 (six) months starting from September 2023 to February 2024 located in Sintong Village, Tanah Putih District, Rokan Hilir Regency. The research method is survey method, respondents amounted to 20 farmers, 6 collectors and 8 retailers. Data using primary data and secondary data, analyzed descriptively quantitative and qualitative. The results of this study are: (1) Characteristics of farmers with an average age of 46 years, collectors 40 years and retailers 39 years. The average level is 11 years, the average business experience is 7 years, the average family dependents are 3 people. (2) Average production costs amounted to Rp. 6,651,224.86, - / arable / MT. The resulting production is an average of 344.50kg / field / MT, the average gross income is Rp. 14,534,062.50, -/ field / MT and the average net income earned by farmers is Rp. 7,882,837.64, - / field / MT. The R / C Ratio of farmers on the average red chili farm is 2.27, RCR> 1 means that the business is feasible to continue. BEP revenue Rp. 874,867.10, - / field / MT, BEP production 21.02 kg / field / MT and BEP price Rp. 20,373.18, - / field / MT. (3) On marketing, for chili marketing consists of 2 marketing channels. Channel I: farmers-middlemen-retailers-consumers.Channel II: farmers-retailers- consumers. Channel II is more efficient than channel I. Channel I marketing margin is obtained at Rp. 12,500.00 / kg and channel II Rp. 5,166.67 / kg marketing profit channel I Rp. 11,044.45 / kg and channel II Rp. 4,289.03 / kg, marketing efficiency channel I 2.65% and marketing channel II 1.76%, the value of farmer's share in marketing channel I 77.27% and marketing channel II 89.67% higher because the price received by farmers is higher.
