Abstract
Concrete is one of the main materials that is often used and relied upon in the manufacture of construction. Self-healing concrete is concrete that can heal itself, meaning that if the concrete is damaged, such as a crack, it can close the crack itself with the help of additional material in a mixture of microorganisms that can be used as a mixed material for self-healing. This innovation utilizes bacteria in the composition of the concrete mixture. Concrete will have the ability to regenerate or be able to recover from cracks that occur. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Escherichia Coli bacteria on Self Healing Concrete to determine the effect of using Escherichia Coli bacteria on the physical form of Self Healing Concrete. This research is experimental in nature conducted in the Laboratory of Structures, Materials and Civil Engineering Computers with reference to SNI 7656: 2012 with 15 samples of cylindrical test objects. Treatment age is 28 days and testing of compressive strength, tensile strength, crack recovery in concrete can be seen visually, SEM (Scanning Electronic Microscope). The results of this study show that the compressive strength of 28-year-old concrete with normal concrete has an average of 20.85 Mpa. The compressive strength of concrete with the addition of Escherichia Coli bacteria has increased with an average of 21.89 MPa. Escherichia Coli bacteria after being cracked decreased with an average of 18.68 MPa. From the results of the Scanning Electronic Microscope test on concrete, it can be seen that the difference in concrete added by Escherichia Coli bacteria, namely concrete added by Escherichia Coli bacteria, can be seen by needle-shaped bacterial cells.
