Abstract

The implementation of a development project generally has a deadline, meaning that the project must be completed before or on time. So that the implementation of the project can be completed within the planned time frame. This study aims to determine the network, determine the time span of uncertainty in the PERT method to complete the Pier Development project in Bandul Village, Meranti Islands Regency, Riau Province and compare project scheduling methods using PERT and CPM analysis. This research is located in the area of the project at the Port of Bandul Village, Meranti Islands Regency, Riau Province. The method used in this research is literature study. Data analysis was carried out using the PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique) and CPM (Critical Path Method) methods. In this project activity there are 2 types of work, namely preparatory work and structure. The results of the research show that the PERT method and the CPM method have the same network shape using the AOA (Activity On Arrow) model. The results also showed that in this study the two methods used had the same critical path including mobilization, demobilization, procurement of spun pile Ø 400 piles, erection of spun pile piles Ø 400, detailed work of L 60.60.6 angle iron, procurement and installation of rubber fenders, procurement and installation of bolard with a duration of 87 days. Comparisons between activities where the CPM and PERT duration methods have uncertain time estimates while CPM has definite time estimates. Furthermore PERT uses three time estimates while CPM uses one time estimate. PERT has more optimal considerations than CPM.
