Abstract

Based on observations, in the vacant land of Building B, Faculty of Engineering, Riau Islamic University, puddles of water are often found. Stagnant water is caused by a lack of infiltration into the ground. This study aims to determine the amount of infiltration rate in the land before applying biopori infiltration holes and after applying biopori infiltration holes, then to determine efforts to reduce standing water with Biopori Infiltration Holes based on the dimensions of the construction. The method in this study was to test the infiltration rate on land without (d = 2 inches; t = 1 m) and 2 (d = 3 inches; t = 1 m) using a double ring infiltrometer and the horton formula. The results of this study were that the infiltration rate on land before was applied was 18.4057 cm/minute, after applying 1 (d = 2.5 inch; t = 1 m) was 24.272 cm/minute and 2 (d = 3 inch; t = 1 m) is 51.747 cm/minute. The effort to reduce waterlogging by making, based on the dimensions of the construction, is to apply the largest dimension. The greater the volume, the greater the water that will absorb into the soil. 2 (d = 3 inches; t = 1 m) produces the greatest infiltration rate 2.3 times faster than 1 (d = 2 inches; t = 1 m) 1.3 times faster and land without. With conclusions and descriptions of the dimensions in the abstract only once at the beginning in the method section.
