Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of interaction and the main storage period and source of scions on the growth of durian (Durio zibethinus) seedling grafts. The study was conducted in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jl. Air Dingin Ujung, Air Dingin Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, for 4 months from January 2024 to April 2024. The study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the storage period of scions consisting of 5 treatment levels: 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 days. while the second factor is the source of scions consisting of 3 treatment levels: primary, secondary and tertiary. The parameters observed were shoot length, number of shoots per scion, upper stem diameter, age of shoot emergence, percentage of living scions. The data were analyzed statistically and continued with an honest significant difference test (HSD) at a level of 5%. The results showed that the main effect of storage period was significantly different on all observation parameters with the best treatment being without storage. The main effect of scion source was significantly different on all observation parameters with the best treatment being on secondary and tertiary scion sources.
