Abstract
Research on the application test of pineapple peel POC and KCl on the growth and production of red ginger plants (Zingiber officinale R.) has been carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Air Dingin, Kelurahan Air Dingin, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. The research was carried out for 5 months from February to July 2024. This study aims to determine the effect of interaction and the main effect of pineapple peel POC and KCl on the growth of red ginger plants. This study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design with two factors. The first factor is pineapple peel POC, consisting of 4 levels, namely 0; 87.5; 175; 262.5 ml per liter of water. The second factor is KCl fertilizer consisting of 4 levels, namely 0; 3.6; 7.2; 10.8 g per plant. So that 16 treatment combinations were obtained with three replications, so there were 48 plots. Each plot consists of 4 plants and 2 plants as samples so that the total plants are 192 plants. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers per clump, weight of wet stump per clump, weight of dry stump per clump, weight of wet rhizome per clump, weight of dry rhizome per clump. The observation data were analyzed for variance and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. Based on the results of the study, it showed that the effect of the interaction of pineapple peel POC and KCl fertilizer was significantly different on all parameters. The best treatment was the concentration of pineapple peel POC 262.5 ml/liter of water and KCl dose of 10.8 g/plant. The main effect of pineapple peel POC had a significant effect on all observation parameters with the best treatment being the concentration of pineapple peel POC 262.5 ml/liter of water. The main effect of KCl fertilizer was significantly different on all observation parameters with the best treatment being KCl fertilizer dose of 10.8 g/plant.
