Abstract

This study aims to influence the interaction and main effect of Eco-Enzyme and Rice Husk Biochar on the Growth of Clove Plant Seedlings (Syzygium aromaticum L.) on the red and yellow podsolic media. This research has been carried out in the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Air Dingin, Air Dingin Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. This research was carried out for 4 months starting from January to April 2024. The design used in this study is a Factorial Complete Random Design (RAL) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the use of eco enzyme (factor Z) consisting of 5 levels, namely without 0; 10 ml/l water; 20 ml/l water; 30 ml/l water; 40 ml/l of water and the second factor, namely the use of rice husk biochar (factor B), consists of 4 levels, namely 0; 100 gr/polybag; 200 gr/polybag; 300 gr/polybag. The observed parameters were plant height, number of leaves, chlorophyll rate, number of stomata, diameter of the base of the stem, length of the longest root, volume of roots, fresh weight of the crown and ratio of the root crown. The results showed that the interaction of eco enzyme and rice husk biochar had a significant effect on plant height parameters, number of leaves, chlorophyll content, number of stomata, stem base diameter, longest root length, fresh weight of crown and root crown ratio. The best treatment is eco enzyme dose 40 ml/l water and rice husk biochar 300 g/polybag (Z4B3).
