Abstract

The use of fossil fuels is still the largest source of energy used today. As a result the availability of raw materials in nature will run out. Indonesia Is a country which has a tropical climate where water availability is abundant at each corner of the area. This is a good opportunity for the development of renewable energy especially in sector electricity. Turbine vortex is a type of water turbine that utilizes the flow of water flow to rotate the turbine blades. Based on the research that has been done, giving variations in the angle of inclination at the inlet and height impeller still not found the best results on turbine performance vortex This research uses an experimental method, namely by making a turbine vortex with a straight blade type that has a height measuring 200 mm, 210 mm and 220 mm, each of which the impeller own 10 spoons. And will be tested by giving the inlet angle of 0?, 15? and 30?. As for the results of this study, it was concluded that giving the inclination angle at the inlet has a significant impact, which is getting bigger the angle given, the better the efficiency and power generated.However Higher Impeller not guaranteed power and efficiency will be better. Define Impeller with a height of 210 mm which given an angle inlet slope of 30?,get results efficiency and mechanical force best turbine. Namely the efficiency of 20.31% and mechanical powerbig turbine 40,21 Watt.
