Abstract

In a drilling operation, sometimes there are problems that can interfere with drilling activities. One of the problems that occur in drilling operations is stuck pipe, stuck pipe problems occur during operations on route 8 ½” at a depth of 3059 ftMD well “H” field “J”, in general there are three types of stuck pipes namely differential sticking, hole pack-off and well geometry. The cause of stuck pipes in drilling well “H” field “J” is analyzed from aspects of lithology of formation, aspects of borehole geometry, aspects of drilling parameters Weight On Bit (WOB) and aspects of drilling mud (differential pressure). After analysis of several aspects, it is known that the cause of the stuck pipe in the well “H” of the field “J” is differential pressure due to the high density that makes the drill string stick to the formation wall. And from this analysis, it is known that the type of stuck pipe in well “H” field “J” is differential sticking. In this well, the methods to overcome stuck pipes are jars assisted by pull repeatedly and using the spotting fluids method. The problem in well “H” field “J” was successfully solved using the spotting fluids method with 12.5% HCL Acid solution and the effort was successful
