Abstract

Formation damage is one of the causes of a decrease in the production rate of a well, such as in the X field which experienced a decrease in production rate suspected of experiencing formation damage. Formation damage around the wellbore results in reduced hydrocarbon flow into the well. This formation damage can be identified by changes in permeability that are getting smaller, partly due to drilling activities, namely the invasion of mud filtrate and solids that clog rock pores which results in a decrease in permeability. The smaller permeability causes a decrease in production. In the process of perforation work using explosives in the form of bullets to penetrate the casing wall. In general, when perforation activities are carried out, well damage will occur which is characterized by the presence of skin. To determine how much skin occurs due to perforation work in field X, this study applied the Yildiz method. The results of the total skin calculation obtained for wells JK-01- 295 and JK-64D-1 are 3.86 and 3.30, respectively. Based on the skin, the Yildiz productivity index (PI) is 0.00280 bpd/psi and 0.00152 bpd/psi respectively and the price of production rate (Q) is 1.41 bfpd and 0.77 bfpd respectively. From the comparison of the two parameters, the results of the calculation of Q and PI using the Yildiz method produce a price that is greater than the actual price.
