Abstract
The condition of an oil well that produces continuously will experience a decrease in its production level, in other words, the pressure in the reservoir is not too large to carry out natural flow. This can be overcome by using artificial lift methods, one of which is by using an electrical submersible pump (ESP). Even though they have used artificial lifts of the ESP type, wells can also experience a decrease in production. One of the declines in production is when a pump experiences problems which will result in indications of reservoir problems to produce fluid. In the RN wells studied, there are indications that the ESP equipment unit is less than optimal and is near downthrust conditions. This condition will result in production that is not optimal because the ESP equipment will have problems. To overcome the problem of decreasing pump production and performance, a sonological test was carried out using the TWM Echometer. The results of this test will produce sonological data. The data will be evaluated using the Prosper Software simulation. The case study on the RN production well has a GOR value of 35 scf/D, a test flow rate of 2000 BPD, a static fluid level of 772 ft, and a working flud level of 972 ft. By evaluating sonological data it is known if the pump is working beyond its capacity and optimization efforts are carried out with 4 (four) methods, namely optimization efforts with operating frequencies of 61 Hz, 62 Hz, 63 Hz, 64 Hz, 65Hz, optimization efforts with a design rate of 1300 STB/D , 1400 STB/D, 1500 STB/D, optimization efforts with pump setting depths of 1440 ft, 1450 ft, 1460, 1470, 1480 ft, and optimization efforts with ESP design re-planning.
