Abstract

There are three types included in chemical injection, namely polymer injection, surfactant injection, and alkaline injection. Of the many EOR methods, not all of them can be used in a reservoir, because each reservoir has different characteristics. Therefore the method chosen is the chemical injection method. The chemical injection method used is surfactant injection, this method is used to reduce the interfacial tension between oil and water so that oil can come out of a reservoir pore. Biosurfactants have properties similar to synthetic surfactants, only biosurfactants are known to be biodegradable. environment friendly, and can work well at high temperature and salinity. The chemical used in this study was anionic surfactant, namely Alpha Olein Sulfonate. In this study, researchers used additional orange peel essential oil as an additive. Pectin is a natural complex carbohydrate found in varying amounts in plants. Sweet orange peel essential oil has a bioactive content similar to pectin, which is 20-35% and D-Lemonen content of more than 90%. With bioactive ingredients such as pectin, which is composed of pectinic acid, part of galacturonic acid, which contains a number of methyl esters, which underlies orange peel essential oil, has the potential to be used as an alternative surfactant of anionic type.
