Abstract

This research aims to analyze the work motivation of Civil Servants (PNS) within the Bengkalis Regency Research and Development Agency (Balitbang) and to analyze what factors hinder the work motivation of Civil Servants (PNS) within the Regency Research and Development Agency (Balitbang) environment. Bengkalis. The research method used is a qualitative research method. The research results show that there are 5 motivation indicators, namely: responsibility is going well, work performance is not going well, opportunities for advancement are going well, recognition of performance is not going well, and challenging work is going well. The research can be concluded that Bengkalis is as follows: Balibang Bengkalis Regency provides opportunities for advancement for civil servants. There are still civil servants who are less than optimal in carrying out the work they are given. There are still civil servants who lack discipline regarding working hours. There is no work recognition such as praise or appreciation. Outstanding civil servants. The obstacles that influence the work motivation of civil servants (PNS) in the Bengkalis Regency Research and Development Agency are: Bengkalis Regency is surrounded by sea, so there are civil servants who arrive late at the office, Difficulty getting training or workshops due to budget limitations, Giving awards for the achievements of civil servants. There isn't any. The suggestions for this research should be that Balitbang Bengkalis Regency should try to overcome the motivation of civil servants including: Holding training or workshops for civil servants at least twice a year, Providing performance appreciation for civil servants who excel, Giving verbal praise to civil servants who produce good performance, Giving money overtime, if there are civil servants who work overtime, and provide skill upgrades, so that civil servants have good skills in all fields.
