Abstract

The research entitled "The Effect of GA3 and NPK 16:16:16 on the Germination and Growth of Sengon Seedlings (Paraserianthes falcataria L.)", aims to determine the interaction effect and the main effect of GA3 and NPK 16:16:16. The research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru from October 2023 to January 2024. This research used a factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is GA3 which consists of 4 treatment levels, namely: 0; 10; 20; 30 ppm. The second factor is the dose of NPK 16:16:16 which consists of 4 treatment levels, namely: 0; 2.5; 5 and 7.5 g/polybag. Each treatment consisted of 3 replications so there were 48 experimental units. The parameters observed were germination capacity, germination time, seedling height, number of leaves, dry weight and stem diameter. The data was analyzed statistically and continued with the honest real difference test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction effect of GA3 and NPK 16:16:16 was significantly different on the parameters of germination, germination time, seed height, number of leaves, dry weight and stem diameter. The effect of GA3 was significantly different on all observation parameters with the best treatment being at a dose of 30 ppm. The main effect of NPK 16:16:16 was significantly different on all observed parameters with the best treatment being at a dose of 7.5 g/polybag.
