Abstract

Vocabulary was an initial foundation in learning Arabic. Based on preliminary study that had been done at boarding school Madinatul Munawwarah and interview with Arabic teacher, it was found that there was not vocabulary memorizing program as an effort to increase students’ speaking skill. It was also found that students’ Arabic mastery was still low. The purpose in this research examined to know how far the effect of singing method on vocabulary mastery of students’ class 1 at boarding school Madinatul Munawwarah. This research used quantitative research with experimental design. The population in this research involved students’ class 1 at boarding school Madinatul Munawwarah in 95 students consisted of two classes. Class A in 49 students and class B in 46 students. The sample in this research was 40 students class 1. The research finding about the effect of singing method on students’ vocabulary mastery at boarding school Madinatul Munawwarah at Bandar Petalangan sub district Pelalawan regency was got pre-test result in -3.930, meanwhile post-test result in 000. It could be concluded that singing method influenced vocabulary mastery of students’ class 1 at boarding school Madinatul Munawwarah.
