Abstract

Islamic work ethic is a fundamental characteristic of Islamic work culture which represents group beliefs or habits that show the Islamic work ethic is related to the Islamic work culture. With the existence of Islamic work ethic and culture within the company, so it will improve the employee performance. The aim of the study is to investigate the influence of Islamic work ethic and culture on employee performance at Indonesian Sharia Bank of Arifin Ahmad Branch office of Pekanbaru with a total employees of 35 people and the sampling technique used is saturated sample. The data collection techniques of the study are questionnaires, observation, documentation. The data analysis technique of the study is multiple linear regression. The partial test results of the Islamic work ethic variable show that t-count (4.850) > t-table (2.037) or sig (0.000) <0.05. It means that the Islamic work ethic has a positive and significant influence on employee performance. While the partial test results of the Islamic work culture variable show that t-count (9.899) > t-table (2.037) or sig (0.000) < 0.05. It means that the Islamic work culture has a positive and significant influence on employee performance. The test result for the coefficient of determination is 0.797 or 79.7% of employee performance is influenced by the Islamic work ethic and culture at Indonesian Sharia Bank of Arifin Ahmad Branch office of Pekanbaru. And the remaining 20.3% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
