Abstract

Reading and writing literation was very important because it was mother from others literation. Reading and writing literation was a reading and writing competence. Someone could run his/her life with better quality when he/she had update knowledge. It meant that reading was a key to understand all science, including information and direction that given big impact in our life. Information in digital era was very easy to find. This research used qualitative research. Qualitative research was a research phenomenon that had purpose to explain profound phenomenon through data collection. This research mainly focus on population number and sampling. Even, the population and sampling was limit. The data was collected in form of words or picture and it did not use number. This research finding showed that Islamic education subject teacher had been showed their effort to improve reading and writing literation by explaining about what was reading and writing literation, familiarize students to do silent reading activity, and familiarize students to read the material before studying. This suggestion, the head master should improve reading and writing literation activity inside school and outside school by giving special guidance to students to make them always learning about reading and writing wherever they were. So that, students would learn more about the way to read and write. School should improve students’ needs and facility with books variations to make more interested in reading.
