Abstract

Image media is one of the media to improve the ability of the prayer movements. Based on the observation, it can be seen that the students’ abilities to perform prayer movements are still low, especially at MTs Al-Kholidiyah, Tanah Putih District. There are some symptoms of low ability of prayer movements, such as the students are unable to perform takhbiratul ikhram correctly, they are unable to perform bowing properly, they are unable to prostrate correctly and they are unable to understand what is observed. The problem formulation of the study is how to apply Image Media in Improving students’ abilities to perform prayer Movements at MTs Al-Kholidiyah, Tanah Putih District?. the aim of the study is to examine the improvement of prayer movement ability by applying image media in grade VII of MTs Al-Kholidiyah. The type of this study is classroom action research (CAR), and the tests have been set to measure the students’ abilities to perform prayer movements. The data are analyzed by using the percentage of students’ psychomotor tests. The results of the study show that before appying image media in the pre-test, the students’ abilities to perform prayer movements were categorized as very poor (28%). Furthermore, the researcher applied the lecture method in cycle I, but the students’ abilities to perform prayer movements had not yet reached the expected result (34%). Furthermore, the researcher applied the lecture method and used image media in cycle II that increased to (71%) with a sufficient category. Then, it was continued in cycle III by appling image media and demonstration method. In this cycle, the students’ abilities to perform prayer movement increased to (93%) with a very high category. So, it can be concluded that the application of image media can improve the students’ abilities to perform prayer movements in learning Islamic Studies in grade VII of MTs Al-Kholidiyah, Tanah Putih District.
