Abstract

Researchers raised this research because they wanted to see the use of TikTok media @dprdpelalawan as a medium of political communication in the Pelalawan community. The TikTok app is a social and music video network launched in September 2016. TikTok is an application that provides unique and interesting special effects so that users of this application can easily use it to create short videos that attract the attention of many people who see it. This study aims to determine the use of tiktok media in the Pelalawan community. This research was conducted at the Pelalawan DPRD office located in Pangkalan Kerinci. This study used a type of descriptive qualitative research. The data collection method is carried out using observation, interviews and documentation. This method aims to get how official staff in the DPRD use Tiktok social media accounts as one of the media to communicate with the community and government in Pelalawan Regency. The results of this study are to make Tiktok a means of information, a means of entertainment, a presentation of self-performance, and documentation of performance activities of the DPRD Kab. Pelalawan. . And also showing the right media certainly gives the effect and influence and purpose of the strategy carried out.
