Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning achievement of students in grade X at Madrasah Aliyah Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru. Learning achievement is important for students because it is the key to achieve successful learning in education. The high and low learning achievement of students can be influenced by several factors, one of which is influenced by peers. The problem formulation of the study is whether there is an influence of peers on students’ achievement in learning Aqidah Akhlak in grade X at Madrasah Aliyah Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru. The aim of the study is to investigate the influence of peers on students’ achievement in learning Aqidah Akhlak in grade X at Madrasah Aliyah Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru. The method of the study is quantitative with a correlational approach. The population of the study is all of students in grade X as many as 83 respondents. The sample of the study is overall 83 respondents because of using the saturation sampling technique. The data collection techniques of the study are questionnaires, tests and documentation. The data analysis techniques of the study consist of the normality test, linearity test, hypothesis testing and the data are analyzed by using a simple linear regression technique. The results of the study show that there is an influence of peers on students’ learning achievement at Madrasah Aliyah Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru by 31.0%. Based on these results, it is known that there is a significant influence of peers on the students’ learning achievement at Madrasah Aliyah Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru.
