Abstract

The Islamic religious education teacher's strategy is a plan prepared by Islamic religious education teachers in which Islamic religious education teachers are someone who has good religious abilities who are responsible for carrying out Islamic religious education and the personal formation of students in accordance with Islamic religious teachings. This study aims to determine the strategies of Islamic religious education teachers in shaping the Islamic character of students at SMP IT Insan Utama 2 Pekanbaru. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a case study approach. The informants in this study were teachers of Islamic religious education at SMP IT Insan Utama 2 Pekanbaru. Data analysis was carried out with the stages of qualitative data analysis. Provide raw data in the form of transcripts, field notes, and the researcher's own views. Organize and process the data that you want to analyze, read all the data, code, compile, topic and give meaning to the topics that are placed can be used by researchers to make theoretical statements from the data on the strategies of Islamic religious education teachers in shaping the Islamic character of students. Based on the data analysis carried out, it was found several strategies of Islamic religious education teachers in shaping the Islamic character of students. Using the lecture method, the uswah or exemplary method, the drill method, the reward and punishment method, telling Islamic stories, getting students used to shaking hands with the teacher every morning, motivating students, making the Al-Qur'an and Hadith as a reference for the formation of Islamic character, invites students to emulate the Prophet Muhammad, carry out routine activities such as midday and afternoon prayers in congregation, sunnah dhuha prayers, tahfidzh Al-Qur'an and carry out student character building.
