Abstract

This research aims to determine the interaction effect and main influence of organic NPK and NASA POC on the growth and production of bitter melon plants (Momordica charantia. L). which was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Air Perempuan, Air Winter Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. The design used in this research was a factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is Organic NPK Dosage (N) consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely without treatment, 40, 80 and 120 g per plot and the second factor is NASA POC concentration (P) consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely without treatment, 3, 6 and 9 ml per liter of water. Each plot contains 4 plants and 2 plants are used as observation samples. The parameters observed were flowering age, harvest age, percentage of the number of pistils becoming fruit per plot, number of fruit per plot, fruit weight per plot, fruit weight per fruit, length of the longest fruit, number of remaining fruit per plot. The observation data was analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The research results show that the interaction of Organic NPK and NASA POC has a significant effect on flowering age, harvest age, number of pistils to fruit per plot, number of fruit per plot, fruit weight per plot, fruit weight per fruit, longest fruit length, number of fruit attacked by pests, number of fruit remaining per plot. The main effect of Organic NPK was significant on all observation parameters with the best treatment dose of 120 g/plot. The main effect of NASA POC concentration was significant on all observation parameters with the best treatment concentration being 9 ml/l of water. Keywords: Organic NPK, Bitter Gourd, NASA POC
