Abstract
Based on four components of digital literacy competency—internet search, hypertextual navigation, content evaluation, and knowledge gathering—this study seeks to ascertain the role teachers play in introducing digital literacy to school students at SDN 173463 Pakkat District. A narrative qualitative research methodology was used. Documentation, interviews, and observations were used to collect research data. Using the guided free interview method, information was collected from the principal, instructors, and students at SDN 173463 Pakkat District. Source triangulation, technical triangulation, and time triangulation were all used in data validity. Data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification were the data analysis methods used. The results of this study indicate that senior students at SDN 173463 Pakkat District have digital literacy skills in terms of searching for bold information, based on the development of indicators of digital literacy found by Gilster. However, many students do not yet know the components of hypertext directions. The level of examination and known utilization of student information is still very low, and that students usually take the information that has been given without examining the source or the website that provides it. The conclusion of this study can be a guide, especially for parents, educators, and organizations, to help them understand, guide, and improve digital literacy related to strategies for conducting reliable and wise bold information searches.
