Abstract
This study aims to understand how school literacy movements are implemented in Indonesian language subjects and their impact on the learning process. The type of research used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach. The data collected were obtained from Indonesian language teachers, class teachers using observation, interview, and documentation methods. This study focuses on the implementation of the GLS learning stages in Indonesian language subjects for grade IV at MIS Al-Birra Pekanbaru and discusses the supporting factors and obstacles in implementing these stages of activity. This study uses data analysis techniques in the form of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification/drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of GLS has helped improve students' interest and literacy skills, especially in reading and writing. Literacy activities are routinely integrated into the Indonesian language curriculum with various approaches, such as morning reading, writing, listening, and discussing. Overall, although there are still some challenges, the implementation of GLS at MIS Al-Birra Pekanbaru has shown a positive impact on the development of student literacy, especially in reading and writing skills. Efforts to improve the effectiveness of this program must continue to be carried out in order to achieve more optimal results in the future.
