Abstract

Environmental protection and management are efforts to preserve the environment from damage as regulated in Government Regulation Number 22 of 2021 concerning Environmental Protection and Management. Amidst the rampant development and numerous environmental damages that cause natural disasters, efforts to protect the environment must be carried out properly as regulated in Government Regulation Number 22 of 2021. The purpose of this thesis research is to analyze environmental approval as regulated in the provisions of Government Regulation Number 22 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Environmental Protection and Management. This research uses a normative juridical research method that examines the internal aspects (to address the issues) of positive law. The results of this study indicate that environmental approval plays an important role in the protection and management of the environment amidst the rampant housing development in Pekanbaru City. There are six impacts addressed using UKL-UPL as an environmental approval during the construction phase of the Casaville Housing Development by PT. Abode Property.
