Abstract

The problem of the study is to find out whether there is an influence of social competence of Islamic Studies teachers on student Social Character at Madrasah Aliyah of Penjuru Village, Kateman District. This is a correlational quantitative study. The subject of the study is the students at Madrasah Aliyah of Penjuru Village, Kateman District. The object of the study is the social competence of Islamic Studies teachers on student social character The population of the study consists of 115 students and with a sample of 89 students. The data collection techniques of the study are questionnaires and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it is known that there is an influence of the social competence of Islamic Studies teachers on student social character. It is known that the results of simple linear regression analysis with a significance value is 0.173, because 0.173 is more than 0.05, so the alternative hypothesis is accepted. The magnitude of the influence of the teachers’ social competence of 0.021 or 2.1% is categorized as very low, because it is in the range of 0.000 – 0.199 as contained in the correlation coefficient interpretation table, while the remaining 97.7% is influenced by other factors. Thus the alternative hypothesis is accepted, the level of the influence of the social competence of Islamic Studies teachers on student social character at Madrasah Aliyah of Penjuru Village, Kateman District is included in the "very low" category.
