Abstract

Islamic higher school at Patani was not adequate, and finally some students went abroad to study at Islamic higher education and they chose Islamic education in Indonesia specifically at Islamic faculty at Islamic University of Riau. For that, some alumni from Patani students that studied at abroad but they did not give contribution in Islamic education at Patani, especially at Al-Khairiyah Lammai Yala dormitory. Started from the problem above, this research had limitation as follows: how was the contribution of Islamic faculty alumni at Islamic University of Riau in improving Islamic education quality at Al-Khairiyah Lammai Yala dormitory at South Thailand. This research used qualitative research with non-statistical descriptive analysis and the population was taken from alumni that was studied at abroad. Research method consisted of data collection method such as interview, observation, and documentation also data analysis method. Research finding that was contribution that was given by abroad students in physical form such as constructing facilities that needed in school, constructing new building in that school. Besides, contribution in non-physical form such as teaching, curriculum development, handbook translation and so on. In this research, it could be seen that contribution in physic or non-physic was very influence in upgrading Islamic education system at Al-Khairiyah dormitory. Islamic education at Al-Khairiyah dormitory had improvement in some aspects along with technology improvement today. In Al_khiriyah dormitory, there were some factors that support the improvement such as teacher’s working motivation without focus on salary to improve Islamic education quality, Meanwhile, the implementation of teaching and learning got the obstacle by some factors such as inadequate facility and lack of teachers. In this research could give suggestion to all parties in Al-Khairiyah Dormitory to improve and develop the achievement in education field should be more develop than now.
